Reading Country - Book Group Catch-ups

Reading Country book groups will be meeting soon, during Reconciliation Week.

Please sign-up for the date that works for you, and we look forward to seeing you soon.

On the day, present yourself at the Concierge Desk on the Mezzanine level at Melbourne Connect and they'll point you in the right direction.

Feel free to bring your lunch (free water/sparkling water is available at the cafe), and join us to connect with others.

As already revealed, the book we’re reading is The White Girl by Tony Birch. Tony is a colleague of ours at The University of Melbourne and is the current Boisbouvier Chair in Australian Literature. The White Girl was the winner of the 2020 NSW Premier’s Award for Indigenous Writing and shortlisted for the 2020 Miles Franklin Literary Prize.

You should be able to find copies at your local library – but we have organised with Readings (bookshops) to offer you a 20% discount when buying the book in-person at one of their stores. Thank you Readings!

The bulk of the copies are at the Carlton store, but they are able to transfer books between stores. Please check stock online and mention the code ‘Reading Country’ when you purchase books in-store to get the discount. This offer is valid until the end of May and given that there are a limited number of copies available – get in fast!
