Complex problems drive ingenious solutions. Discover some of our city’s most fascinating problem-solving hardware startups from the University of Melbourne’s entrepreneurial programs: Melbourne Accelerator Program and Translating Research at Melbourne.

Spanning a broad range of sectors including health tech, robotics, industrial design and mixed reality, this educational hands-on exhibition will give you the chance to learn about the products and try them out yourself. From electric scooters and work-force robots to smart devices designed to support older Australians in the home, and maps that help people with vision impairment to navigate unfamiliar indoor environments; these locally-grown innovations are already changing lives.

Join a panel discussion on Friday, Hooked on hardware, to hear stories from some of these start-up founders, from prototyping in home garages to going global.

This event is part of Prototype City, a collection of experiences, tours and exhibitions that showcase innovations that will shape our future city.
