Emerging Contaminants Workshop 2024: Pollution & Health

The Australian Laboratory for Emerging Contaminants (ALEC) invites you to participate in the Emerging Contaminants Workshop.

The Emerging Contaminants Workshop (ECW) is an annual event hosted by the Australian Laboratory for Emerging Contaminants (ALEC) at the University of Melbourne. The aim of the workshop is to bring together leading experts, researchers, industry professionals and policymakers to discuss the latest advancements and challenges in addressing pollution and its impact on human health and the environment.

The all-day workshop will be run in-person at the University of Melbourne and simultaneously online through Zoom. Three international keynote speakers will lead our program, and will be joined by local academics, policy makers and industry professionals. The focus of this year’s workshop will be 'Pollution & Health', with a particular focus on the impact of emerging/novel pollutants.

Workshop Details

This year, the Emerging Contaminants Workshop will be mixed mode, held at the University of Melbourne and streamed online. This flexible format gives you the chance to attend the conference in-person or from your home, place of work, and anywhere in the world.

Each attendee will be given a link to the live presentations given by each speaker.

Video recordings will not be available after the event.

Registration Costs:

General: $100 in-person; $50 online

Student: $25 in-person; free online

In-person registration includes a light lunch.

Note: A personal meeting link will be sent to you before the workshop is due to begin. Do not share this link, as there will be a limit of one (1) device allowed at a time. You may leave and re-join the meeting or change devices with this link throughout the day.
