Wikipedia editing session: More than a word
Wikipedia articles on Australian towns and places can be a great way to start building your knowledge about local Indigenous communities and Country. But many Wikipedia articles do not provide information about Traditional Owners or custodians, place names, Nations or language groups, and they do not reflect First Australians’ ongoing cultures and continuing connection to Country.
Members of the University of Melbourne and Melbourne Connect communities are invited to join us for a live Wikipedia editing session offered as part of National Reconciliation Week (27 May to 3 June 2021).
At this live session you’ll:
- learn how to edit Wikipedia
- start learning about Indigenous perspectives on the places and towns of interest to you.
Please sign up with your University of Melbourne or Melbourne Connect email address to register your attendance.
This is a Covid Safe event. Please bring your own laptop, water and snacks.
Students and staff will need to check in to the building by scanning a QR code or swiping their card staff at a external door.
