Seminar: Improving your memory using ancient Indigenous techniques

Have you ever wondered how verbal cultures were able to retain so much knowledge without writing it down?

Dr Lynne Kelly is coming by to share her knowledge on the memory systems used by Indigenous and early literate cultures around the world, and how we can apply these systems in contemporary education.

Dr Lynne Kelly has degrees in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Education, and a Doctorate in Arts, and has been appointed a Member of the Order of Australia for her contribution to education through writing and research. Her books include The Memory Code (2016), Memory Craft (2019) and Songlines: the power and promise, with her Indigenous co-author, Dr Margo Neale (2020). Lynne is the current Senior Australian Memory Champion.

To follow up, you'll have a chance to create your own memory board in a workshop with Lynne. Numbers are limited to 20, so be sure to register here.

We've also paired with Indigenous catering company Mabu Mabu, who will be providing some delicious food focussing on local Indigenous ingredients.
