Open House Melbourne: Environmental Graphics

Join a guided tour by Practice Lab, the Victorian College of the Arts (VCA) post-graduate graphic design studio behind the environmental graphics that weave throughout the building. The graphics explore the relationship between Dreaming and technology; Practice Lab will recount the Bardi/Jawi Dreaming story of The Seven Sisters originally shared by Dr Ngardarb Francine Riches that inspired the project.
The University of Melbourne’s Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology engaged Victorian College of the Arts students to weave the indigenous environment, culture and stories into the fabric of its home building. By embracing indigenous seasonal changes throughout the building, the faculty celebrates and pays homage to First Nations people, their land upon which we stand, and their elders past present and emerging. The FEIT is one of the major tenants at Melbourne Connect, a purpose built precinct developed by the university and Lendlease to support creative and industry collaboration, research and innovation.
