Offshore wind is a powerful and renewable resource for generating clean electricity – and it’s coming to Victoria! This exciting technology is emerging as an exciting opportunity to fast-track our energy transition and reach net-zero emissions by 2050.

Come along to hear from the Star of the South – Australia’s first offshore wind project – about what’s involved in bringing this technology to Australian shores. For the first time, visualise how offshore turbines might look spinning off the Victorian coastline through an innovative 3D model of the project.

Featuring some of Australia’s leading offshore wind specialists, this informative presentation and discussion will highlight the challenges and opportunities offshore wind presents for our country.

Event Speakers

Erin Coldham

  • Erin Coldham is the Chief Development Officer at the Star of the South project. She’s proud to be part of the team progressing this exciting project for Australia and is responsible for all development activities required to bring the project to construction and operation, working with industry, regulators, policy-makers and local communities. Included in A Word About Wind’s Top 100 Women’s Power List 2021, Erin is a champion for female talent in the energy industry and is driven by the positive opportunities offshore wind represents for Australia.

Myles Daniel

  • Myles Daniel is the Engineering, Procurement and Construction Director at the Star of the South project. A control systems and electrical engineer by trade, Myles started his career in Queensland’s coal industry, moved to offshore oil and gas in the UK, then transitioned to offshore wind in 2011. In several offshore wind roles across the last decade, Myles has successfully executed and brought projects online in mature European markets, as well as the developing USA market. Having seen the positive impact of offshore wind on energy markets, decarbonisation efforts and local economic development abroad, Myles is excited about the potential for offshore wind in Australia and proud to play a part in creating a new industry here.
