MGSE Mental Health Month - Laughing Yoga

Come along to The University of Melbourne's Graduate School of Education (MGSE)'s Laughing Yoga lunchtime workshop! Laughter sessions are loads of fun whilst revitalising energy, connecting people, decreasing stress.

Relieve your stress in a fun and positive environment by joining us in a dynamic and immersive experience of a Laughter for Wellbeing Workshop. Connect with colleagues through the joy of laughter, while developing your inner resilience and enhancing positive wellbeing.

Discover the science behind “laughter as medicine” and participate in an intentional laughter practice – Laughter Yoga, combining laughter and deep breathing exercises. Laughter Yoga increases engagement levels, decreases stress and promotes a healthy working environment through an uplifting experience with benefits to physical, psychological, social and emotional health. The workshop will conclude with a smiling mindfulness practice.

The workshop will be facilitated by Ros Ben-Moshe, who is a Positivity Resilience and Wellness Coach, Author and Director of LaughLife Wellbeing Programs, a leading provider of laughter wellness, positivity and mindfulness programs. She is also Adjunct lecturer at the School of Public Health and Psychology at La Trobe University and coordinator of a world first Laughter, Resilience and Wellbeing online short course for professionals. Ros is author of the critically acclaimed “Laughing at cancer – How to Heal with Love, Laughter and Mindfulness”), part memoir and part healing guide, written following a shock diagnosis of bowel cancer. Her next book, “The Laughter Effect – How to Build Joy, Positivity and Resilience in your life” will be published in 2023. She has written extensively for health and wellbeing publications including The Canberra Times, Huffington Post, Mamamia and Wellbeing magazine.

The event will be held in QG06A which is the former car park entrance space accessible via the door to the left upon entering the Kwong Lee Dow Building from Leicester Street.
