What do we mean when we talk about 'innovation'? Are we all talking about the same thing, or is there room for investigation, provocation and new perspectives?
Innovation is one of four capabilities students can develop to earn a digital credential through Melbourne Plus, the University of Melbourne’s co-curricular recognition program. In developing this capability, they become innovative thinkers, able to apply lateral thinking and work creatively to create new or unique solutions, recognise new patterns and make the most of opportunities.
In the lead-up to and across Innovation Week, visitors to Melbourne Connect are given the opportunity to contribute their thoughts on what 'Innovation is...'. This survey statement is open-ended, inviting you to explore what the concept of innovation means to students, educators, industry and members of the public.
This session will focus on what innovation means to the respondents and event participants, and how we can all work together to build new opportunities for developing innovation in the next generation of thinkers.
