Finance Down Under

The Department of Finance in the Faculty of Business and Economics is pleased to continue its annual conference series - Finance Down Under: Building on the Best from the Cellars of Finance.

This year, we are delighted to return to hosting Finance Down Under in-person in late-summer Melbourne on 2-4 March 2023.

We have selected 20 high-quality papers from more than 200 submissions. The accepted papers cover a wide range of areas, including Asset Pricing, Behavioural Finance, Corporate Finance and Banking, Market Microstructure and Mutual Funds, and received high ratings from our selection committee.

In addition to the general sessions, a unique feature of the program is that we honour ‘vintage’ research in finance that has inspired recent advances and withstood the test of time. In 2023, we will celebrate the body of work in behavioural and household finance by Professor Nicholas Barberis from Yale University.

We are honoured to have Professor Barberis, Professor Luigi Guiso from Einaudi Institute for Economics and Finance, and Professor Olivia Mitchell from the University of Pennsylvania contribute to our event as keynote speakers.
