AI-Assisted Decision-Making in Clinical Settings

With recent technological advancements, AI-systems have taken a major role in healthcare assisting doctors in a variety of tasks. However, while there is some understanding, the depth of how individuals perceive, learn and trust these technologies for health self-examination remains underexplored. The focus of this PhD centers on how individuals trust and learn in interaction with AI-assisted systems. This includes investigating how individuals trust can be influenced by the behavior of the AI, as well as understanding how individuals confidence in own abilities can be increased through psychological AI strategies. In this talk, explore report findings from their work to date as well as future directions.
