Hun brings strong startup experience and technology expertise to his role as CEO of The University of Melbourne Genesis Pre-Seed Fund having invested in, led, mentored and grown over 40 deep tech startup companies out of universities, research organisations such as National ICT Australia (NICTA) and CSIRO, of which Audinate, Chrysos, Smart Digital Optics are just a few examples.
Hun has worked across the entire research translation process as a researcher at Telstra Research Laboratories, an Investment Director at Rothschild & Co and Starfish Ventures, as a start-up CEO, and led business development and technology transfer teams at CSIRO and the University of Melbourne.
As CEO of the $15m University of Melbourne Genesis Pre-Seed Fund (the Fund), established in partnership with Breakthrough Victoria, Hun supports the development of early-stage startups from the University of Melbourne research and student community. Hun has also led the establishment of the University of Melbourne Venture Creator team, the Venture Studio and the Fourth Floor Ventures Labs.
